What's in it

How to track where your jobs come from.

You don't need software to start. You need ten rows and one honest column.

List your last 10 paid jobs

Job, town, and rough size. From memory is fine.

Step 1

Write how each customer found you

Referral, repeat, Google, Facebook, truck or yard sign, paid lead, an ad, or don't know.

Step 2

Tally the sources

Your biggest source is the one to protect. If it's referrals, make asking for them a habit.

Step 3

Question what isn't on the list

A paid source with zero or one job on the sheet deserves a hard look.

Step 4
The full version is a free PDF you can print. Get it at the top of the page.

Who this is from

I build this for contractors. Here's one of them.

I'm Sam Harrington. Tin Roof Digital is a small shop, and you'd be dealing with me. These guides are the same basics I set up for the trades I work with. Use them whether you ever talk to me or not.

“Fast response and answers every question! Once we started with Tin Roof Digital we started getting more reliable leads. Would definitely recommend their services!”

Before you ask

Common questions.

If yours isn't here, call me and ask it. 574.350.9712

How do I track where my jobs come from?

Ask every caller one question, "How'd you hear about us?", and write the answer down. A notebook in the truck works. This worksheet gets you started with the ten jobs you already did.

What if I don't know where a job came from?

Write "don't know." That's an answer too. If most of your rows say it, start asking every caller.

How often should I do this?

Every 90 days. The second sheet is where you see what changed.
